Ron Fimrite was a renowned sports columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle and a senior writer for Sports Illustrated. His other books include Birth of a Fan, The Square: The story of a Saloon, and The World Series: A History of Baseball’s Fall Classic. Mr. Fimrite passed away soon after the hardcover publication of Golden Bears.
